Province grants $300,000 to Alberta's first-ever land trust alliance
Calgary… Albertans will soon enjoy more conserved land as a result of a $300,000 grant from Alberta Environment, kick starting the Alberta Land Trust Alliance.
Alberta Environment provides $1 million to establish endowment
Edmonton… The Alberta Emerald Foundation will set up an endowment fund to foster further environmental stewardship through a $1 million grant from Alberta Environment. The grant will provide more support and encouragement for Albertans who engage in environmental excellence.
Alberta's nocturnal environment protected in Canada's newest Dark Sky Preserve
The night sky in Elk Island National Park and the Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area will now be protected, as Canada's newest Dark Sky Preserve. The designation acknowledges and protects the nocturnal environment as part of Alberta's and Canada's natural and cultural heritage.

Ag-Capture: Agricultural Land Use Inventory Tool
The Beaver Hills Initiative is excited to participate in Agriculture Canada's Ag-Capture project, as one of three pilot sites in Canada.

Strathcona County Municipal Development Policy Review Process
The Beaver Hills Initiative has been actively working with Strathcona County, providing land use planning and land management recommendations. As they review their policy, and they take the policy out to the community for input, response to the conservation and expansion of the moraine policy area has been positive.
