Alberta Environment provides $1 million to establish endowment
Edmonton… The Alberta Emerald Foundation will set up an endowment fund to foster further environmental stewardship through a $1 million grant from Alberta Environment. The grant will provide more support and encouragement for Albertans who engage in environmental excellence. (Full text of article)
Alberta’s nocturnal environment protected in Canada’s newest Dark Sky Preserve
The night sky in Elk Island National Park, Cooking Lake-Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area, Strathcona Wilderness Centre, and the Alberta Fish and Game Property will now be protected, as Canada’s newest Dark Sky Preserve. The designation acknowledges and protects the nocturnal environment as part of Alberta’s and Canada’s natural and cultural heritage.
Ag-Capture: Agricultural Land Use Inventory Tool
The Beaver Hills Initiative is excited to participate in Agriculture Canada’s Ag-Capture project, as one of three pilot sites in Canada.

BHI recipient of 2005 Partnership Award for Municipal Excellence
