Back To ‘What We Do’ Overview

The Communication and Education Working Group (CEWG) is responsible to outline coordinated, consistent and complementary BHI messaging founded on the BHI Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles for both our internal and external stakeholders. The CEWG is also responsible to develop materials like the BHI Ecological Primer, Brochure and Newsletter (Resource Library_Documents) along with other project specific information.

As new projects come forward within the BHI the CEWG must ensure that community engagement, collaboration and participation is acheived as needed.

Since 2002 the representatives from BHI partnership have presented at conferences, trade shows, municipal open houses, universities, and council sessions. The BHI 2008 hosted in partnership with Alberta Lakes Management Society (ALMS) their first conference. Opportunities for BHI partners and their organizations, local residents and visitors to appreciate, interact, and connect with nature has also been successful through a number of half day and full guided tours through the Beaver Hills/Cooking Lake Moraine.

The protection and celebration of biodiversity values that reflect and integrate the natural and cultural history of the Beaver Hills/Cooking Lake Moraine are an important aspect of conservation planning. As the BHI develops the future 2011 Business Plan, the CEWG will be responsible to analysis communication and marketing successes and update its current strategy to be reflected in a new Integrated Marketing and Communication (IMC) Strategy. More information will be posted on the website as progress the IMC unfolds.
